Shelley Jean is an artist/educator that studied at the Florida School of the Arts and is a graduate of the University of South Florida with a B.S. in Art Education. She has taught in the public and private sector for over 30 years. She is a member of the Florida Artist Registry and is the President and founder of the Florida Wax Chapter of the International Encaustic Artists. She teaches and represents R&F Paints as a Tier artist throughout the U.S. and Internationally, as well as her own Secret Place Studio in Orlando specializing in Encaustics.
“I am a contemporary Encaustic artist; my hope is to inspire moments of reflective contemplation. Embracing the echo of tranquility and evoking a sense of beauty in movement in my paintings. I am influenced by places I have traveled, colors of the ocean and dreams that visit me. This series of lyrical seascapes captures the rhythmic ebb and flow of time and emotion that only the water offers.”
