Florida Wax was founded in 2017 as a chapter of the International Encaustic Artists group with Shelley Jean as President and Anne-Marie Bercik as Vice President. Our inaugural show was held at the Maitland Library Gallery with many subsequent group exhibitions.
Group members have individually shown their encaustic pieces at City Arts Factory, Showalter Hughes Community Gallery at Crealdé, Studios of Cocoa Beach Gallery, Warehouse Arts District, Ridge Art Association, Beach Art Center, Mott May Gallery, Island Art Association Gallery, Hub on Canal, Lake Mary Museum, Brick City Center for the Arts, Florida CraftArt Gallery, Morean Art Center, Suntan Art Center, The Kotler Gallery, Imago Art Studio, Leepna-Rattner Museum of Art, Tampa Museum of Art, SOBO Gallery, Quantum Leap Winery, Park Avenue Contemporary Art, and Orlando Museum of Art. Florida Wax was also featured in Altamonte-Wekiva Springs Life July/August 2018 and Lake Mary Life July/August 2021, IEA Wax Fusion Magazine, Fall 2021.
